The Wild Wellbeing course for Dorset residents is the first of its kind at Magdalen.

Our free event is 24 hours long, including a catered overnight stay in our accommodation, and full board provided by our chefs.

Our Wild Wellbeing course is open to families living in Dorset who have a child with autism or suffers from social anxiety and a learning disability.

Families will stay with us and explore how, even in the depths of winter, nature can help and improve wellbeing. With nature-themed activities out in the great outdoors (as well as cosier places inside).

The aim is to have a go at a range of activities that might help children to feel more comfortable engaging with others, and to gain a greater understanding of the wild world that surrounds us.

This is a FREE event thanks largely to funding from our friends at Skills & Learning ACE.

To make this work, and help us learn how to develop Wild Wellbeing for the future, adults will be asked to complete some paperwork before, during and after the trip. We hope you don’t mind, and appreciate you giving up some time for form-filling in order for us to be able to provide this event.

On-site we have 3 all-terrain wheelchairs (bookable in advance) to help those less able to get around the farm if needed.

We also have a dedicated "Changing place" (please bring your own hoist if required).

About Us:

Magdalen is a working organic farm set in the glorious countryside of Dorset & Somerset.  At the heart of our farm is an education centre from which we offer activities with accommodation and delicious meals. Our aim is to encourage as many people as possible from all walks of life to enjoy the great outdoors.
