The MVLS Engagement Team are delighted to welcome Heather Bowie Senior Programme Coordinator for STEM Ambassadors in Scotland to present a short introduction to their exciting scheme.
This will be of interest to those wishing to engage young people on STEM subjects and previous STEM Ambassadors looking to reconnect with the training and skills development that the scheme can offer.
Heather will be highlighting:
Who are STEM Ambassadors?
STEM Ambassadors are volunteers, from 17 to 70 years old, representing a vast range of STEM-related jobs and disciplines across the UK. They are enthusiastic and knowledgeable role models who offer an important and exciting resource for young learners, teachers, youth and community group leaders and other individuals working with young people. STEM Ambassadors get involved in a number of activities each year and we have found that those who engage in long-term initiatives can make a real difference, and develop fulfilling relationships with schools and other groups they support.
What do the
STEM Ambassadors do?
As a STEM Ambassador, you can
get involved in a wide variety of activities near to where you study or live,
including Classroom Activities, Careers Talks and STEM Club Activities
What support does STEM Ambassadors provide?
You will have the chance to ask questions or seek advice regarding your own engagement ambitions.
This event will be held online via TEAMS and you will be sent a link on booking
We look forward to welcoming you.
