This free-to-attend event brings together Members of both The Security Institute and ASIS UK Chapter for a range of sessions dedicated to exploring the role of standards in securing the built environment. Hear from expert speakers and subject matter experts, network with likeminded professionals and witness first-hand the rigorous forced entry testing that LPCB-certified products undergo.

  • A valid Membership number must be shared when registering to attend.

10:15        Richard Flint (BRE): Assuring Forced Entry Protection

This session will concentrate on:

  • Forced entry threats – Types, why delay measures matter and an offender’s perspective.
  • Selecting appropriate standards of forced entry protection.
  • Verifying conformity within the supply chain.

12:15        Lunch and networking

                 Group B – Asset level security assurance: The role of standards and certification

13:45        Group A - Asset level security assurance: The role of standards and certification

                 Group B - Witness forced entry testing

14:45        Panel discussion: "Spec-busting - How rife is it and how can we combat it?"

The panel session will be chaired by Bruce Braes and obtain the panel members' experiences and thoughts in relation to the protection of security design and specifications throughout a built asset's lifecycle - from planning through to occupation - against potential 'value engineering' or 'spec-busting'.
