Kicking off the year with a sell-out show in Aberdeen followed by more sellouts in London – including a guest appearance by Planet Rock DJ Darren Redick on bass for FAR CRY – then being asked by Nancy Peart to play at the Neil Peart Pavilion in Lakeside Park, St. Catharine’s Ontario Canada in August 2023 – this year is already the best yet for RUSH tribute band MOVING PICTURES.

Neil Peart was Rush’s drummer and main lyricist. He passed away in January 2016.

Canadian rock band RUSH sold over 42 million albums and toured for over 40 years – selling out arenas across the UK.

“Moving Pictures - they're really really good. I give them a double Redick thumbs-up.” — Darren Redick - Planet Rock Radio.

On seeing the Moving Pictures video for their arrangement of Afterimage Alex Lifeson (Rush guitarist) wrote – “Very moving and beautifully done. Heartfelt thanks to the band for their kind tribute.”

“To emulate 3 of the highest musical calibre artists, with such gusto, was seriously impressive.”

“First time but won’t be the last, great show and fantastic musicianship!”

“My Villa has never been so brilliantly strangled.”

MOVING PICTURES – RUSH TRIBUTE play for over two hours covering all the classics such as Tom Sawyer, The Spirit of Radio and Xanadu (with doubleneck guitars) plus some deeper cuts such as By Tor and later belters such as Far Cry and Headlong Flight

.

Featuring drummer Jamie Dunleavey — this young lady from St Andrews is scarily on point.

It takes a unique set of skills to sing AND play bass AND play keys like Geddy Lee — John Power (Eoin de Paor) is incredibly accurate.

Guitarist Steve Brown is a lifelong Rush fan and pro player with way too many guitars and wicked sense of humour — not unlike a certain Mr Lifeson.

MOVING PICTURES are regularly on the bill at Rush fan conventions. Here they are playing Xanadu at RUSHfest Scotland 2022.
They have recordings on all 3
Songs For Neil albums and have performed for and recorded with Rush producer Terry Brown.

Steve Brown guitarist - “Things are really starting to cook for us this year. We’re all in a position to gig more and all the stops are being pulled. The receptions we’ve had so far have been outstanding, there really is a lot of love in the UK for Rush and their incredible repertoire. Our job is to play it to the best of our abilities. It’s great to see so many Rush fans come out and support us. It all helps to keep Rush’s legacy alive and bring this incredible music to folks that love it and also to those that may not be familiar with it.”

“There’s the age-old question about the worthiness of tribute bands. We feel every tribute to RUSH is worthwhile since the band themselves will never gig again.”
“We’re thankful to venues and promoters for adding to our tour almost daily.”
