Enjoy a stay on a working organic farm with your family
Saturday February 18th – Sunday February 19th 2017
Magdalen Farm
Magdalen Residential Visit Kit List
Regardless of what time of year you visit Magdalen you will find the following five items very useful.
A good waterproof jacket
Waterproof over trousers
Wellington boots
Water Bottle
Warm hat e.g. woolly hat
You will need plenty of layers of warm, comfortable old clothing (jeans are not good for outdoor activities as they do not dry quickly), non-cotton tracksuit type clothing is best.
Clothing that can be worn in many layers is much more flexible, and allows adjustment to the weather and conditions.
Thick socks (including a long thick pair to wear with Wellingtons)
Underwear
Pyjamas
Backpack (for packed lunch, clip boards etc)
Outdoor shoes (in addition to your wellies) such as trainers or walking boots (designated to only be worn outside the building)
Indoor shoes such as trainers or slippers (designated to only be worn inside the building)
Towel and wash kit
Sun cream and sun hat
Torch and spare batteries
Camera (optional)
Three plastic bags for muddy wellies, waterproofs and dirty laundry
Groups coming during colder months will need to bring a lot of layers of clothes, thick socks, a warm hat, a scarf and gloves.
As Magdalen is a working organic farm, and most fieldwork or activities are carried out outside, please bring clothing or footwear that you do not mind getting muddy or wet.
On average, each group that visits Magdalen brings over 900 items of clothing with them.
Please label EVERYTHING you bring with your name!
We do not have vending machines or shops nearby
