What to Bring

What to expect & What to bring:

Day 1

The day includes a mix of classroom discussion and theory, as well as a practical pool session at a local swimming pool. Usually course participants share lifts to and from the pool which is about 5 minutes drive from our classroom.

The pool element should ideally be completed wearing what you would wear to sail, so please bring a pair of trousers and a jumper to wear. If you have some old wet weather gear bring that, (alternatively we have some odd sets you can borrow) and you may also bring your own personal lifejacket if you have one (if not, life jackets are provided).

Do remember to rinse your wet weather gear / lifejacket when you get home in fresh water to minimise any potential damage from swimming pool chemicals.

Please also bring a towel and a change of clothes.

Day 2

This second day is classroom based, although some sessions will be delivered on a moored yacht, and (subject to coast guard approval) a flare demo will be held outside, so please wear appropriate footwear and outdoor wear.

On both days refreshments will be provided, but does not include lunch. Please bring a notebook and pen for note-taking.
