Join us as we embark on our 1,550 nm mile voyage from Portsmouth across the infamous Bay of Biscay to Las Palma one of Spain’ Canary Islands off north-western Africa. Discover the highs and lows of navigating big open water passages as we head across the Bay of Biscay and Atlantic to our ultimate destination Las Palmas in Gran Canaria.Portsmouth
Birthplace of Charles Dickens and home to other literary greats such as Arthur Conan Doyle and Rudyard Kipling, the city of Portsmouth is ideally located on the south coast. Steeped in naval and maritime history, Portsmouth has great nightlife, miles of waterfront packed with great places to eat and drink, a unique shopping experience, museums, art galleries and the iconic Emirates Spinnaker Tower at Gunwharf Quays.
Las Palmas is the capital of Gran Canarias and lies on the north-eastern side of the Island. Set in the middle of two bays and the beaches of Playa de las Canteras and Playa de las Alcaravaneras. Steeped in history and rich in culture the oldest part of the city was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1990.
Renowned for its stormy waters The Bay of Biscay stretches around the western coast of France and along the northern coast of Spain.
The combination of its unique geography and topography with its shallow continental shelf, meeting prevailing westerly winds sweeping in from the Atlantic create some extremely challenging sailing conditions.
We take your safety and that of the vessel extremely seriously and as such we reserve the right to alter or amend itineraries in the case of bad weather, tide or Foreign Office/Maritime Agencies advice.
