Families on the Farm - Activity Day - Feb 1/2 Term 2018

Enjoy a day out on a working organic farm with your family

Thursday, 15th February 2018 at 10:00am
Magdalen Farm

Event description

Magdalen is a working organic farm set in the glorious countryside of Dorset & Somerset.  At the heart of our farm is an education centre from which we offer activities and delicious meals.  Our aim is to encourage as many people as possible from all walks of life to enjoy the great outdoors.

This activity day is being supported by "The Claire Milne Trust" and is open to families who have a child with autism or an additional need.  This is a great opportunity for mums, dads, brothers and sisters or indeed any family member to come along together and enjoy a fun time.

We will start the day with a tour of the farm, feeding the animals and visiting our kitchen gardens to see where we grow our food. Lunch is included from Magdalen - jacket potatoes and a selection of fillings served with salad from our kitchen garden and a homemade cake and light refreshments are available to all throughout the day. After lunch we will make make a craft item which can be taken home.

On-site we have 2 all-terrain wheelchairs to help those less able to get around the farm along with a dedicated "Changing place" (please bring your own hoist if required).

We will tailor the event to suit the needs of the individuals in the group so it is important you let us know in advance of any requirements you and your family may have.
