PECS and your child – learning to communicate:

How to help your child to use the Picture Exchange Communication System  Stages 4 – 6 (PECS) to communicate his/her needs – suitable for parents and practitioners working with children with autism and other communication needs, who are already using PECS

Course outline:

*      Understanding how PECS can support communication and language development

*      Overview of ways to develop communication and language using PECS

*      Brief recap on the rationale of PECS

*      Teaching PECS Phases four to six

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this course you will:

ü  Understand more about different ways to support language and communication development

ü  Understand what the Picture Exchange Communication System is

ü  Be able to teach your child Phases four to six of PECS

Course delivered by a specialist teacher or specialist speech and language therapist from Puzzle Centre’s expert team
