Reading comprehension and vocabulary gaps is an issue that faces all pupils at every key stage. We know that even before school, that vocabulary gaps emerge and they prove resistant. As our pupils face an increasingly challenging curriculum, I offer strategies around vocabulary instruction that can help our pupils access the language of school and go on to flourish far beyond exams.

  • Hear from the authors of the EEF Guidance Report on Improving Maths in KS2 and KS3

  • Designing your own randomised control trial, with a focus on neuroscience informed practice to improve retention.

  • Does teaching ‘skills for learning’ enable less able A-level students to make good progress?
