Share your work and influence the future of the University's approach to community engagement
Monday June 4th 2018
St Cecilia's Hall
Booking for this event is now closed. If you have any inquiries about the event, please email local@ed.ac.uk.
This event is an occasion where you can find out more about engagement between the University of Edinburgh and local community partners. It is also an invitation to get involved with influencing the future of the University's approach to community engagement. The event is taking place in the atmospheric St Cecilia's Hall, which has recently been opened full-time to members of the public.
Should I come?
This event is for people already involved in engagement between the University of Edinburgh and local community partners. You might be from a voluntary organisation that works with the University, an undergraduate student involved with an outreach project, a local authority employee, or University staff engaging local people with your research. This event is both a chance for you to share your work, if you wish, and to find out what others are doing. We also hope you will share your thoughts on the University's approach to community engagement.
How can I share my work?
We hope you will share your work through an informal, short talk to a small, friendly group. Storytelling training will be available to support you with this (but is not mandatory).
The venue
St Cecilia's Hall is on Niddry Street in Edinburgh's Old Town. It can be accessed both from the Royal Mile and the Cowgate . The venue is accessible to wheelchair users, but please note that Niddry Street is reasonably steep and has an uneven surface. Information for visitors who are on the autism spectrum can be found here.
Fancy a tour of St Cecilia's right now?
The St Ceclia's Hall app, available for both Android and Apple devices, gives you a virtual tour of the hall.
