The Monkey House
This piece of devised work by our Year Ones is led by the multi-award winning ensemble Rhum and Clay led by artistic directors Julian Spooner and Matthew Wells. 'The War of the Worlds' is a piece inspired by the ground-breaking science fiction novel by H.G. Wells which tells the tale of a martian invasion of the planet Earth. Rhum and Clay have used this as primary source of inspiration, and have also drawn on cinema heavily, particularly science fiction films from the 1990's and also icons of modern pop culture. This production is a meditation on what stories we would tell if everything was destroyed. Who would be our modern myths and gods?
