How can we best support someone who is living with loss? This day is designed for those who care for those who mourn including church leaders, pastoral carers and others in a caring role.
Recognising loss as an inevitable part of life, we will identify the emotional, physical and cognitive effects of bereavement and explore the healing which comes through the normal process of grieving. We will also look at what happens when grieving becomes complicated and consider the impact of traumatic death, including the loss of a child or death through suicide. The Bible will be our guide as we reflect on our role in caring for those who mourn and look at the positive ways in which we can support them. There will also be opportunity to receive personal prayer support.
Margaret is a church leader in Suffolk and a trained counsellor. Margaret is a member of the Inspire training team, providing training in aspects of pastoral care.
