Nb: We have tried to match you up according to requests however if your start time does not coincide with your riding buddy just let us know – it can be changed.

 

The venue Is between East Clandon and Shere at the top of STAPLE LANE off A246 – caution quite steep and a favourite of cyclists! (please do not try to approach from Coombe Lane off A25). The postcode is for the Tillingbourne Brewery which is opposite the field entrance.

 

(This is part of the Woolgars Farm Cross Country Course and we are extremely grateful to them for stepping in at the last minute. The Farm Cross Country Course is available for hire and is a fantastic Hill Training Spot – Onthehoofdt run regular clinics here).

 

At the Venue

  • Please do not muck out or drop hay at the Venue as the landowner does not want to have to clear up after us.  Everything must be picked up and taken home.
  • Please bear in mind this landowner stepped in at the very last minute – lets keep them happy
  • Parking is tight.  Please obey the Parking Steward and park where directed.
  • Ensure your horse is supervised at all times or kept securely in the horsebox/trailer.
  • Dogs must always be kept on leads (preferably not the retractable kind) and under control.

 

Facilities – very limited

  • NO TOILETS
  • NO WATER
  • We will try to offer limited catering (hot water/cakes etc), it might be self serve honest box
  • First Aid

 

Pre-Ride

  • Report to the secretary to collect your number bib, emergency labels and check the notice boards.

·                                 Please ensure your EGB MasterCard and/or South East Group Trophy Card is correctly

filled out.

·                                 Please have your rider and horse membership cards ready for inspection.

·                                 If you wish to change horse/rider/ please inform us ASAP.

 

Start

  • Please report to the start within your allotted start window.
  • Please make sure you take your map (having studied it) there is very little mobile signal on course!!

 

Finish

·                                 Please make sure you are checked in.

 

Route Notes:

  • PLEASE TAKE YOUR MAP – MOBILE SIGNAL IS POOR.
  • Please check the notice board for Route Changes (this is brand new in places).
  • Please take care at the ROAD CROSSINGS.
  • Ride carefully through Newlands Corner Car Park.

 

Crewing Notes:

  • Good Crewing (CP1) at end of Honeysuckle bottom – however narrow road and horses on it!
  • Good Crewing (and refreshments) at Car Park just up from Venue on right.
  • Good Crewing Newlands Corner (and refreshments) but be careful as it is a busy spot.

 

 

Retiring on Course

  • If you need to retire on course please inform the nearest checkpoint or ring the emergency number.
  • You must return to the venue and present to the Secretary before travelling home.

Reservation of Right

 

The Organiser has the right to cancel the ride or any class, alter the advertised times and refuse any entry, with or without stating the reasons.

 

Health and Safety

 

The Organisers of the event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present.  For these measures to be effective, everyone must take reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards.
