Event description

Saturday 3rd August, 3-6pm - Food waste cookery challenge: We are delighted to unveil our latest community event. We will be gathering surplus ingredients (which would otherwise have gone to waste) from a variety of local sources and with your help, will be turning them in to a delicious feast. At our afternoon workshop session, attendees will join forces with Temple Street Canteen chefs to formulate a meal plan from the available ingredients. To highlight the plight of people living in temporary accommodation, we will be limiting the group to a very basic selection of cooking facilities. We will then race against the clock to create a delicious supper for our evening guests. The profits from this event, along with a kind donation from Kier Construction, will fund our community freezer. This permanent freezer at the cafe will host a stock of healthy ready meals, available to the public free of charge after the event. This is a pay what you can afford workshop. Suggested ticket price £25 (includes entry to the evening supper). If you would like to donate food for this event please contact templestreetcanteen@gmail.com
