Event description

Health Literacy Awareness Training across the Midlands and the East of England

Health literacy includes numeracy skills. For example, calculating cholesterol and blood sugar levels, measuring medications, and understanding nutrition labels all require math skills. Choosing between health plans or comparing prescription drug coverage requires calculating premiums, copays, and deductibles.

We are rolling out health literacy awareness training across the Midlands and East of England this year. As part of the national Knowledge for Healthcare Programme, we are aiming to ensure that we have at least 2 people in every service trained in health literacy awareness so please do try to make sure that your service is represented if at all possible.

The session will start at 10.30, tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring your own lunch.
