Pootings, Kent
Poofest* is a ‘not for profit’ charitable event, held in the tiny village of Pootings in Kent. It relies on neighbours, friends and supporters giving their time for nothing. It is about supporting local music and musicians since we are fortunate enough to have a wealth of talent on our doorstep. However more importantly, it's really good fun, allowing families and all generations to enjoy themselves in a safe and friendly environment.
Last year we had a great time, great family atmosphere, great music and we raised £33,000 for charitable causes – no sh*t!!
This year will be our fifth Poofest* and with the passage of time the festival has become bigger and better, without loosing the essence of its creation.
Held in Pootings, in the heart of the west Kent countryside, this great little charity music festival is a fantastic day out – and if you live in Kent it is on the doorstep.
If you enjoy spending time, with family and friends, listening to great live music performed by talented, local musicians in a relaxed, safe environment then put the date in your diary. Food and drink are provided but you are welcome to bring your own picnic if you prefer.
Poofest* was germinated from a seed of conversation with neighbours and friends in Pootings, who wanted to raise a little money for Judge Ange, a friend of the Rivers’, who was fundraising to go on a trek in the Himalayas in aid of the charity New Futures Nepal. Paul and TJ Spurin tabled the idea of having a music festival; since we were also keen to promote local music and one thing we know about the residents of Pootings, they do like a good party!!
Can we do better in 2015? You bet we can…
