Event description

The organisers of the Jersey Round Island Challenge are excited to invite you to a short, but highly energised and exciting presentation from motivational speaker and extreme endurance athlete, Stuart Croxford. The event, courtesy of Smith & Williamson will begin at 4pm in the Celestial Hall at the Royal Yacht Hotel.

Stuart is an ex-servicemen wounded during a tour of Afghanistan in 2012, where his vehicle was blown up by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). After a secondary accident on a sailing yacht while in rehabilitation, Stuart eventually had his leg amputated below the knee in 2014. This changed his life forever but also gave him the drive to see what was possible whilst using a prosthetic leg.

Always a keen sportsman and cyclist, Stuart qualified as a BASI Ski Instructor 4 months post amputation and completed his first, full Ironman in 2016 out in Mallorca. His passion for sport and adventurous challenge has now lead him to support others who have suffered life-changing injuries after previous roles Programme Managing the Royal Foundation’s Endeavour Fund to provide sport and adventurous challenge opportunities for other injured servicemen and women.  👏

Stuart now runs a fitness and wellbeing company with his wife, where they aim to support and drive others in their journey to live a healthier and more active lifestyle especially with today's mental health pressures of today's societies and lifestyles.

After the event, Stuart will be joining other participants of the epic Jersey Round Island Challenge for a race briefing, which will commence at 5pm.
