Women in a Patriarchal World: 25 Empowering stories from the Bible                                          

Elaine will look at specific challenges women faced in the Bible. She will examine different women’s experience and explore what women can learn from those challenges today.  A long-time scholar, philosopher and social activist, Elaine is also a writer, radio broadcaster and lecturer in Theology and Religious Studies. She is a former member of the General Synod and was previously President of Tearfund, amongst other roles!   Elaine is wife to Alan and mother to 3 sons.
