A great way to spend an afternoon
Wednesday, 17th June 2020 at 2:30pm
As part of North London CAMRA's online activities during lock down, one of their leisure socials is being transformed to a beer and cheese tasting, which will be held on CAMRA's Red (on) Lion. It's free to attend; you just need to bring your own beer and cheese.
The tasting will be led by Master Trainer, Guild of Beer Writers Member & Beer Judge, Christine Cryne.
The session will cover how to match beer with cheese and go through three different cheeses teamed with three different styles of beer. This fun event starts at 2. 30pm and will last about 90 minutes.
- Brie or Cambert (should be fresh, not aged)
- Mature Cheddar
- Stilton
- Traditional Bitter (amber or mid brown)
- Golden ale
- Porter or Stout
Beers should be circa 4.5%ABV or above
Participants can choose whatever beer they wish of the above styles, particularly if they wish to support local brewers. If this is problematical, then here are some beers that can be purchased via supermarkets:
