UofG Three Minute Thesis Finals

UofG Three Minute Thesis Finals

Three Minutes, One Slide: Bite-sized Research for All

Thursday July 2nd 2020

Event description

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is an academic competition for research students, challenging them to present their research to a non-specialist audience and giving them the opportunity to practice their public engagement skills. Four competition heats were held in early March, with judges choosing the individuals who would move onto the finals.

The overall winner of the competition wins a £1000 travel/research grant, while the runner up wins £500, again for travel/research purposes. The audience also votes for its favourite presentation so that one finalist receives a People's Choice Award of a £100 voucher. The overall winner will also move on to compete in the U21 Three Minute Thesis Competition.

There are two different tickets for the event. The first ticket is to join the Zoom Webinar, for which there is a limited number of tickets: we are reserving them for members of the University of Glasgow community (students, staff, PGRs). If you are friends, family, or another individual interested in watching the event, or if the Zoom Webinar tickets are sold out, please register for a Youtube Live ticket. You will be able to watch the live stream and will receive a link to vote for the People's Choice.
