Event description


Following on from session 1, which focused on the 3Rs, this final trauma-informed session looks at behaviour as communication. Discussion will centre on Kim Golding and Dan Hughes’ simple stepped approach to better understanding ‘connection before correction’. Risk and protective factors and strategies will be explored with county agency support, to enhance staff understanding and response of how to support children and young people as they re-adjust to life back in school.


Schools should decide who is the most appropriate member of staff to attend the hour session. Pre-reading will be sent beforehand to prompt discussion, adopting the Mobilise PLC-model, which can be shared with colleagues before disseminating the session back in school. A supporting follow-up presentation will also be shared.
