The Tee Off for the Kids charity golf outing began in 1986, spearheaded by Bill Getherall, as he wanted to create an event that brought people together for a good cause. Recognizing the mission and values of Make-A-Wish, Bill decided it was the perfect charity to support; he wanted to help change the young lives of children who were battling critical illnesses. What better way to do so than bringing the community together for a fun-filled day of golf where all net proceeds would go directly towards the Make-A-Wish New Jersey chapter.

As support from local business owners and individuals started to strengthen year after year, the golf outing has become a tremendous success. Each year the outing would grow in size with new sponsors, more golfers and volunteers, and new opportunities to participant including enjoying lunch, cocktails, dinner and a few different contests and raffle prizes. It is through Bill's passion and commitment that this event has become the longest running charity event in the state of New Jersey for Make-A-Wish.

We have succeeded in raising over $1 million, collectively, throughout the lifetime of the event, allowing us to help grant about five to seven wishes each year. 

Through positivity and courage, the children and families of Make-A-Wish have been given a chance to experience life-changing events that bring them joy and light during difficult times in their lives and we are pride to be apart of that.
