Soho Food Feast 2015

Soho Food Feast 2015

Saturday June 13th – Sunday June 14th 2015
St Anne's Gardens

Event description

The Soho Food Feast was set up by Margot Henderson, of Rochelle Canteen and St. John restaurants to raise money for the severely underfunded Soho Parish Primary school with the help of Anita Moir, who manages the school's healthy-eating kitchen.

In five years the event has grown from a school fete to a large weekend extravaganza of exciting restaurants, chefs, bars, food demos and live entertainment . Not forgetting the infamous vegetable sculpture competition for the kids!

We are a child & pet-friendly event - all children under 16 (and pets!) get in FREE.

Once inside the venue, everything is bought with Feast tokens, available at the token stall.  In exchange for a £2 token guests can try a tapas-sized signature dish of the many great restaurants on offer, as well as some great beer, wine and cocktail bar options. All this whilst being entertained by live music, free food demos from some of our chefs and an amazing raffle. A selection of activities for children will also be available.

The event attracts foodies from across London as well as families and Soho residents, the fundraising objective giving it a great community feel and energetic atmosphere. So if you fancy the idea of eating out at over 20 Soho restaurants in a single afternoon, perhaps accompanied by a pisco sour or glass of wine and a food demo, why not join us?

Soho Parish Primary is a small state school in the heart of Soho on Great Windmill Street. Its restricted site mean that it can only accommodate an average of 22 pupils per class, much smaller than a typical school, meaning it receives very little funding. Soho children have almost nowhere to play outside, and unfortunately the school's playground is no longer fit for purpose. It’s so small that only two classes can use it at one time, which is why this year we plan for all the proceeds of the event to be invested directly into the redevelopment of the playground this coming Summer.
