A group of young women have disappeared. Disillusioned with the excesses of capitalism and society’s failure to act on the climate crisis, they have formed The Community – a place with no leaders but instead a set of codes and conventions by which they all should live. 

As they strive to build a better society, can they convince three outsiders that they have created a new utopia or are the cracks beginning to show?

This Changes Everything by Joel Horwood is part of Platform, a new initiative from Tonic Theatre in partnership with Nick Hern Books. Aimed at addressing gender imbalance and inequality in theatre, Platform comprises big-cast plays with predominantly or all-female casts, written specifically for performance by schools, colleges and youth-theatre groups.  

Directed by Ellie Jones and performed by the Fourth Monkey BA Acting Graduating Class of 2022, This Changes Everything is a powerful examination of capitalism and idealism and is entertaining, humorous, and thought provoking.
