This statutory training for administering the Phonics Screening Check (PSC) is intended for teachers who have not administered the check before or would like to have refresher training.

The aims of this session are for delegates to:

• To discuss the implementation of the screening check 2023 (Key Stage 1 ARA and Test Administrators Guidance) for year 1 and year 2.
• To clarify the security and access arrangements when delivering the Phonics Screening Check.
• To confirm understanding of age related expectations of pupils by the end of year 1.
• To consider possible interventions prior to or post the Phonics Screening Check.
• To explain the process of re-checking for Year 2 pupils resitting the Phonics Screening Check.
