What is writing and why do we write?

An introduction to the writing process and an understanding of the challenges faced by some children in being able to write.

Understanding writing as a way of communicating with a purpose and with pleasure. 

Session 2

Date: Thursday 5th June 2025 - The Regatta

Time:  9am - 3pm

How do we teach writing?

Evidence based ways of working to develop writing effectively across the curriculum.

This will include ways of developing both transcriptional and compositional skills in children. 

Session 3

Date: Thursday 3rd July 2025 - Online via Zoom

Time:  9am - 12pm

How do we create a culture of writing for pleasure?

Exploring ways in which we might develop a culture of writing for pleasure in the classroom and across the school.
