Rules of Participation - The Important Stuff

Participant Safety
Club Officials volunteering at this session include fully qualified and highly experienced British Cycling Level 2 MTB Coaches and a Level 2 MTB Leader. We want everyone to enjoy themselves, and as such your safety is our top priority. The MTB Coaches will ensure all the necessary risk assessments and mitigation protocols are in place before the session, and each Coach will carry a First Aid kit at the facility. However, your safety is also your responsibility, so...

MEMBERS ARE ALSO EXPECTED TO KEEP SAFE BY:

  • Signing on – you know the drill. This will start at 9.30am.
  • Wearing a helmet and gloves – no exceptions.
  • Bringing a working bike. Check this at home BEFORE you leave to ensure brakes etc. are fully functional.
  • Paying attention during Coaching. Failure to listen to coaching instruction may potentially result in you getting hurt. Under no circumstances is a member to go anywhere on the skills features or the coaching areas without approval from a MTB Coach.
  • Eating a meal before the session and carrying snacks and hydration. Not doing so causes fatigue and dehydration that can be easily avoided. So be sure to eat a proper meal before you leave home, pack a few energy snacks such as a flapjack, a banana or a granola bar; and make sure you have plenty of water.
  • Respecting the MTB Coaches decisions regarding capability - this will be based on skill and experience levels observed, and we expect this to be respected at all times.
  • We expect all members to apply common sense and good judgement, and to listen to and cooperate with the MTB Coaches when decisions are made regarding safety. Any disrespect shown will not be tolerated.

Participant Code of Conduct

  • All members are expected to pay attention to and follow the Club Officials’ instructions during the session at all times. Any form of disrespect or refusal to do so may result in being asked to leave the session and not return.
  • Any riders who misbehave or put others in danger will be asked to leave the group.
  • As a reminder, this is a Club Session and all Members taking part are representing Slipstreamers – please read the Rider Code of Conduct to ensure you know what is expected of you.
  • Parents/ Guardians of riders are also reminded that this is a Club Session and as such the relevant Parent/ Guardian Code of Conduct applies. We appreciate your support in letting the Coaches get on with the business of coaching, and not interfering in this process.

NOTE: BY BOOKING A PLACE YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU (MEMBER & PARENT) AGREE TO THE ABOVE.
