Parent Code of Conduct


As the Parent/ Guardian of a rider undergoing an induction/ trial period, you agree to the following Code of Conduct and are expected to uphold it at all times. Failure to follow the Parent’s Code of Conduct will result in you being asked to leave the Club.

Rider Safety

It is vital we all play our part in keeping all riders as safe as possible in public places.

  • Parents/ Guardians are asked to be vigilant at all times and to remind their children to stay in their coaching groups during a session. If it is necessary to leave the group, the rider must let an appropriate Slipstreamers Official know.

  • Parents/ Guardians should inform the club CWO’s of any specific medical conditions or health requirements, or any updates to information already provided.

  • Parents/ Guardians should inform Sign-On or a CWO if their child has to leave the session early or is being collected by somebody other than their Parent/ Guardian.

  • Parents/ Guardians must be able to respond to a phone-call and collect their child if necessary during a session.

  • Emergency contact numbers must be kept up to date and phones switched on during the session.

  • Parents/ Guardians are expected to use the footpaths when walking to and from the apron.

  • Parents/ Guardians are expected to ensure their child’s bike is safe to ride and in the correct gearing for their age group before the session. Visit the Rider Resources on the website for guidance.

IMPORTANT: Riders and Parents/ Guardians accept that bikes adjusted or repaired by Club Officials as requested by the owner are done so at the owner’s risk, and the Club cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage arising from this however caused.

Parent/ Guardian Conduct

  • Parents/ Guardians are expected to set an example of good conduct and sporting behaviour while their child is taking part in a session.

  • Parents/ Guardians should support their child’s involvement and enjoyment of the sport and help them to appreciate performance as well as results.

  • Swearing, inappropriate language or any other form of verbal abuse is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

  • Smoking and alcohol are not allowed during sessions. The use of any illegal drug is completely unacceptable and prohibited.

  • Club Officials and Coaches should be treated with respect at all times. Parents/ Guardians must not interfere in coaching sessions and any questions or concerns should be taken up with a CWO or with the Senior Coach, AFTER the session.
