Deer Run Camp
Sharon K. Ball, LPC-MHSP. Sharon is passionate about mental health care in our communities and raising the awareness of the need for good clinical care. She focuses on recovery and resiliency; encouraging people to find hope in dark places. She says the process of recovery is not easy but if you are willing to walk into healing, do the hard work of recovery and grant yourself kindness you will experience life rather than just surviving. Sharon is dual licensed in Tennessee and Arizona and is a Tennessee State Approved Supervisor for Licensure. Sharon's therapeutic approach is holistic and trauma informed. She has within her repertoire EMDR, TBRI, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and the Enneagram approach to therapy.
Sharon is a firm believer that trauma lodges itself in the body, mind and heart. She says, “Trauma is pervasive. Because trauma doesn't discriminate there are symptoms that are normal to one who has been exposed to trauma. The trauma is "not normal" however your responses to trauma are. One of those responses is isolation and when t he victim isolates it compounds the trauma. My best advice for people recovering f rom any kind of trauma is work with a trauma trained therapist. Trauma should not be carried alone.” Sharon is active in the Nashville community serving on homeless and veterans boards. She is sought after for Critical Stress Debriefings for natural disasters and violence. Sharon took part in the recovery process of the Route 91 and Opry Mills shooting, Hurricane Katrina and the Tsunami. She is a published author, radio guest, speaker, former restaurateur and organizational trainer. In 2013 she started 9P (9paths.com) a consulting company that trains organizational teams in the Enneagram Personality Mapping System increasing the talent and teams performance and creating long-term sustainability.
